The Eastside Rural County Fire Protection District (ERCFPD), located in Stockton, California, is a dedicated public safety agency committed to protecting lives, property, and the environment in the rural eastern portions of San Joaquin County. The district provides essential services including fire suppression, emergency medical response, rescue operations, and disaster assistance. Operating in a region where rapid urban expansion meets agricultural land, ERCFPD plays a vital role in addressing the unique challenges of both wildland and structural fire protection.

Established on December 3, 1945, ERCFPD serves approximately 7,451 acres in the unincorporated areas east of Stockton. The district is governed by a five-member elected board, with each member serving a four-year term. Since 1984, ERCFPD has partnered with the City of Stockton to deliver fire protection and emergency medical services within its jurisdiction. Operations are based out of Station 12, located at 4010 East Main Street in Stockton, serving a population of approximately 26,000 residents.

In addition to emergency services, ERCFPD works closely with the City of Stockton to promote fire prevention and public education. Programs include safety inspections, school-based fire safety outreach, and guidance on defensible space planning to help reduce wildfire risks.

The district is led by President Susan Trammel, Vice President Jess Miller, and Directors Lynne Armanino, Martin Asborno, and Steve Lagomarsino. Matt Duaime serves as the Chief Administrative Officer and Board Clerk. Regular board meetings are held at Station 12, reinforcing the district’s commitment to transparency and community engagement.
